Time to say goodbye!

I has a very good time creating this blog. It taught me and I hope it will teach you what terrorism really is. Now I have a better understanding of what effects terrorism brings. But each blog must have a final post and I guess this is mine. So all I am left to say is GOOD BYE. I hope you go even further and do your own research on terrorism and learn even more.
This is Kyle signing off from Blogspot.

TERRORISM: TO SUM IT ALL UP

Many victims, many causes, many reasons. Terrorism is a terrible thing and to think of a world without it is almost impossible. But still lies the question of why, why people do such a terrible thing, what influences them to do this. These questions can never be answered. Terrorism is something that effects so many people and the lives of the ones lost can never be replaced. Although there are acts that are trying to act against terrorism, it will take a very long time to make an end to terrorism. We will never feel the real pain of terrorism unless it hits home, hard.
In conclusion terrorism is a terrible thing and all we can do is fight through it and fight strong against it.

THE FUTURE OF TERRORISM

The future of terrorism

Because individual terrorists and their organizations are becoming harder to keep track of, and given the difficulties of identifying terrorists and terrorism in the first place, the policy assumptions of the past are likely to be counterproductive in the future. Containment, in particular, does not seem to be a promising strategy when the ease of travel and communication are helping to make anachronisms of international borders. Similarly, efforts to control investments and limit technology transfers appear to be not only failing but also aggravating the fears of people around the globe who distrust the motives of multinational economic and political entities. The 2000 demonstrations in Seattle and elsewhere against the International Monetary Fund are harbingers of what we can expect as the development-investment programs of the Western power centers sharpen the great differences between those favored by the programs and those disadvantaged by them.
The "new terrorism" of religiously dedicated holy warriors is less vulnerable to being deterred by military and law enforcement threats. Indeed, the use of violence has not only failed to diminish international and domestic terrorism but also provided the ideologists of terrorism with useful ammunition. Rightist domestic terrorism in the United States has been strengthened by such incidents as the Waco assault, as has Islamic terrorism by the attempted assassinations of Osama bin Ladan and other leading figures. Though understandable and perhaps even appropriate in some instances, military tactical responses to terrorist threats and attacks have given credence in the eyes of believers to religious depictions of Western, particularly American, societies as satanic. The new terrorists are convinced of divine approval of their actions and of ultimate victory, even if it is to be a supernatural one. As Laqueur emphasizes, the new terrorists are so dangerous precisely because they "are not primarily interested in gain or glory, but instead want a state or a society in their own image, cleansed of their enemies" (p. 277).
Such warriors can be expected to show little reluctance to use weapons of mass destruction. Although governments have concentrated investigative resources on reducing the threat of major nuclear attacks, most analysts are more concerned with the growing possibility of small-scale yet spectacularly alarming weapons being used. Small nuclear devices are perhaps less likely to be used than chemical or biological weapons, but in any event the casualties of the future will probably be much greater on average than in the past. Meanwhile, conventional weapons continue to be readily available, along with instructions on how to make and use them. The portent is more incidents, more deaths and injuries, and more terrorist challenges to established social orders.

More About Terrorism

Terrorism is something that has been around for ever. If you really think about it, it has been around since the fist man stepped foot on the earth. Although the types of terrorism that was preformed at those times was nothing like it is in thins day and age it was and still is here today. "Terrorism has been described variously as both a tactic and strategy; a crime and a holy duty; a justified reaction to oppression and an inexcusable abomination." This line is from the website http://www.terrorism-research.com/. Terrorism is a criminal act that hurts and influences more than the targeted person. This means that for example is A terrorist group is trying to assassinate a weapon dealer named Bobby Joe. If the terrorism group wants to drop a bomb on Bobby's town they will most certainly kill more than just bobby Joe. These people that they are killing inocent people.  But, as I have stated before, there is no cure for this type of act, and sadly more people will be killed.

Stephan Harper's Voice

This was a quote said by the Canadian prime minister Stephan Harper on Canada's position in Iraq. The website that I used http://www.tranquileye.com/stockwell/harper.html also has many other quotes from Stephen Harper and other important people.

"Abrasively neutral."

American heros

According to the website http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/2001/09/wm36-facts-and-figures-about-terrorism#5 a approximate total of 25, 911 soldiers has died in the line of battle in some of the major battles.

P.S. look at the last 3 numbers of the total number of deaths... pretty weird hu!

The why?

We all remember  the plotted plane bombing on Christmas day. We all remember how we would of felt if it would have been accomplished. But i think the question that kills us all in the inside is that why? Why would someone to do something so cruel. Why would someone be so mean to all of these people. Who gives them the mindset that doing something like this is maybe good? These questions of why can never been answered, unless somehow we can get into these peoples minds and see what they are thinking, but sadly we will never no for sure.

Books

There are numerous books out there that are about terrorism, but this website displays the top 50 books on terrorism. Check it out and maybe there will be one that interests you!

canada's thoughts about this challenge

Canada believes that terrorism is a long-term global challenge. It demands a consistent, comprehensive, co-ordinated international response based on agreed common goals, norms, standards, values and institutions. We participate actively in the global fight against terrorism.

Terrorism suspect in Edmonton court

Way to go Edmonton- Good on you!!!
Did you know that on Wednesday morning terrorist suspect Sayfildin Tahir-Sharif was arrested in an Edmonton apartment. Sharif is allegedly the master mind behind a plan to kill American soldiers in Iraq. Sharif was under a most wanted list by the FBI. the FBI did also play a part in the investigation.

The source was the Edmonton Journal

Not So Fun Fact

According to http://www.hks.harvard.edu/ksgpress/bulletin/autumn2001/feature_terror_facts.html

Approximately 641 terrorist incidents occurred in the United States between 1971 and 1975 compared to 272 between 1980 and 1999. Among these attacks were 166 bombings, 120 fire bombings, and 118 shootings. During the first six months of 1975 alone, 24 attacks occurred in California, 12 in New York, and 11 were directed at targets on the U.S. Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.

The Name For for Terrorism

According to the Code of Federal Regulations and the website : http://www.hks.harvard.edu/ksgpress/bulletin/autumn2001/feature_terror_facts.html
There is no single, universally accepted definition of terrorism. It is defined as  “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85)

September 11 attacks

We all should remember the attacks on the World Trade Towers on September 11. this was a triadic day in the worlds history. But beneath all of the ashes was the worst terrorist plan and attack to this present day. on that day it was recorded that aapproximately 3,000 (including 19 hijackers) people were killed on this day and a nother near 6000 people injured. The FBI thinks that the mastermind behind these attacks was led by   Osama Bin Laden a extreme Islamic terrorist.
Sadly we will never forget this day.

Did you know (#1)

Did you know, ( according to the site answerbag.com) that on average 70 Americans each year die as a result of a terrorist attack. This was shocking to think about the amount of people dieing from a type of death that i and I think many of you think really only happens on the other side of the world.
Hu... Interesting. Think about it.

The Numbers

As I have said many times, terrorism is a terrible thing that cant be stoped. Although we try this is such a powerful act that is almost impossible to bring to an end. Canadians have tried in Afghanistan to bring peace to the people but sadly a total of 154 Canadian Forces personnel have been killed in the war since 2002. A number that unfortunately will most likely continue to rise.

how does it effect us- Mentaly

Terrorism, as I mentioned in my last post can effect us in 3 major ways in this post, I will talk about how it effects us mentally.
If such a terrible event happens to us, it changes our life forever. we never feel the same again and our life will never be the same. if something like 9/11 happens and effects someone you know you will never feel the same about a certain thing. You may for example lose trust in a certain type of people, in this case the Taliban. Maybe you will never now be up to flying on an airplane. This could leave you never seeing family members in years and possibly never. Because of these effects that focus in on your mind and soul, you could be leaded into the terrible state of depression. Depression is a serious condition that in some cases can lead to death.
Terrorism is a terrible thing which sadly can not be stoped, all we can do is fight through it and try to live a normal life, but this can be very hard to do.

How does this effect us- Emotionaly

Terrorism is a terrible thing, the effects can be brutal and lives will never be the same. One effect of this terrible thing is being hurt emotionally. Its a type of pain like no other.
When people whiteness encounter and feel terrorism they don't feel whole they as if a part of them has been riped off of them. There .are many ways that people can describe this and one of the names is emotionally. After a terrible event like the attacks of 9/11 many people were effected. loved ones were lost and lives were torn apart. When things like this happen to people they don't feel the same, they feel as if their lives are over and nothing can ever and will ever be the same. if there was no terrorism in the world more people will be whole and lives will go on happy. In my opinion, being emotionally effected by terrorism is the worst way. In most cases there is no cure and nothing that can replace what has been lost. It is a pain like no other a pain that cant be fixed by band- Adi's or Advil, it is the type of pain that hits the heart, mind, body and soul. It hits it hard and in some cases can never be heeled.
